The portfolio of course offerings in the Master's Degree in Health Law includes:

Program Requirements

Required Introductory Course (choose one):

• Introduction to Law (SEM-1101), 3 units

• Introduction to Medical/Healthcare Practice (HLAW-201), 3 units

Additional Required Courses (all are required):

• Foundation in Health Law and Policy (HLAW-207A, & B), 6 units each
• Capstone Project (HLAW-296), 6 units
  
  

Prescribed Electives
(must take at least one course from Group A, B, and C - need 12 units minimum):

  A) Finance and Economics:

• Modern Healthcare Organizations (LHCO-205), 4 units
• Financial Accounting and Analysis (LHCO-213), 2 units
• Topics in Financial Management and Decision-Making (LHCO-206), 2 units
   
  B) Policy:
• Health Law and Policy (SEM-672), 4.5 units
• Influencing Public Policy (HLAW-208), 2 units
  
  

  C) Bioethics:

• Bioethics Seminar - Legal Focus (SEM-613), 4.5 units
• Bioethics Seminar - Clinical Focus (HLAW-205), 2 units

General Electives (12 units minimum):

Select from among many law and policy courses at either institution
Note: Students with a non-science backgroud are required to fulfill at least half of their elective units with science-oriented courses. Students with a science background are required to fulfill at least half of their elective units with non-science oriented courses.
